Irrationally living because of Irrational Love

Yesterday Brian McCormick in Crowded House spoke on what our lives should be like and how we should live because of Jesus the Irrational Lover. He said this whole thing: Jesus, the Bible, His Cross, just life in Christ is Crazy…Why? Picture this God Creating Everything in his Perfection and later on Sin enters the World. And God knowing this has a plan for Restoring the entire World. His plan is to send His Son Jesus down into the world not as royalty and not even rich but as a Baby boy born to a VIRGIN!!! Mary, Jesus’ mother is no older than 18 years old and his father, Joseph is a Carpenter and they are poor and live under the rule of Roman Empire in a small place called Jerusalem. In Jesus’ first couple days of Life on Earth as a baby he is visited by Three Wismen that have been following a Star that has lead them to Jesus’ Stable they have brought him gift of Gold, Incense and Myrrh, a item using for embalming someone. These are gifts meant for a KING. Also three shepards told by AN ANGEL OF THE LORD that a Savior has been today…WOW!!! The Shepards go and they find Jesus and come to worship him. But there are people who are not happy at all that this Savior has been born and one in particular King Herod wants to kill him so he tries to kill every male baby under two so that he could take down Jesus. But another ANGEL OF THE LORD tells them to run away to Egypt. They would later come back after Herod was dead. Then we dont know what goes on with jesus until he is 12 years old and is found preaching the word of God in the synagogue… 12 years old and preaching!!! Then we dont hear from jesus until he is about 30 years old when he starts his ministry. He starts by speaking on a mount where he is all ready speaking crazy things like Love your enemy as much as the people that love you and the poor receiving the Kingdom Of God!! And then he picks 12 normal guys: fishermen, tax collectors,etc. these guys arent even good enough to do anything but their families business. JESUS CALLS THEM ANYWAYS!!! Jesus heals the Blind, The paralytic, the DEAD . He hangs out with the Prostitute, Greedy Tax Collector, The Sick and Diseased. Gives Hope to the Poor, Needy, Widowed, Orphaned, and just the Hopeless. He rebukes the Priest and his own disciples. He Transforms Hearts feeds five and four thousand with almost nothing, turns water into wine, walks on the Water, calls one of his best friends to walk with him, Calms the raging storm. Then after all of this….

He Rides into his hometown, Jerusalem, on a DONKEY not a valiant horse or anything fancy. He is Worshiped people are shouting Hosanna meaning Save, Save! Days later he is having a dinner Passover meal with his disciples, it would be his last. Jesus would be betrayed by his own disciple arrested by the Jewish Priest and their men. Questioned, Beaten, found guilty by these Priest and taken to the Roman Governor, Ponchious Pilot and after Pilot has found him not guilty sends him to the rich leaders of Jerusalem and is also found not guilty just Crazy. Then they bring him back to Pilot and after a quarrel of shouting and demanding Pilot has him questioned, flogged and beaten but the Romans take it to far and beat Jesus all most to death… he was thinking about us when he was going through this. Then after more demanding he was sentenced to DEATH….

DEATH ON A CROSS!!!! Jesus carried his cross all the way to the place where he would be CRUCIFIED!!! on his way he met Simon a man who helped Jesus carry his Cross during this time he resented helping but when he saw Jesus be nailed on his Cross he Understood who he was with and went away weeping. While nailed and suffering on our cross he was mocked by a thief he said if u r the Christ why dont u save yourself and us. But there was another thief and he rebuked the other saying dont u fear God dont u understand who is right here with us we deserve what we get but he doesnt deserve this. The man finished with this “Jesus just remember me when you go into your Kingdom” Jesus said “Today u will live in pardise with me.” Jesus could have said nothing to this man or to anyone he was dieing on a cross but he still on the cross Loved the People who were crucifieing him.

These are Jesus last words: It is FINISHED… Father into your hands I place my Spirit.

All hope seemed to be lost. Death and Sin looked like it had defeated Love… But three days later Sin and Death were proofed wrong and Satan had lost BECAUSE…

THREE DAYS LATER JESUS ROSE FROM THE DEAD AND TOOK THE SIN OF WHOLE ENTIRE UNIVERSE AWAY!!!! This is the irrational story of Love that Perfect would die for us for u and me.

Now this is our story. We are called to Love just as Jesus loved… We are called to live Irrational lives because of his Irrational Life. We are Loved so we Love.

What does this new Irrational life look like? What does it look like to love Irrationally in every situation?

I’m learning myself … this is life that we would look crazy and love crazy for each other. So lets live!!!!

I hurt… the lost the least and the broken

I literally just got back from camp Arrow where i had one of the greatest opportunities of my life. I got to be a counselor for kids– kids broken because of broken families– they have lived in a living Hell and are alive to tell their story. These kids most of them have been abused: sexually, verbally, been used, etc. They dont ask for sympathy, and nor is this the reason im writing about them, but their actions and the words shout of LOVE ME!!!

I had the time of my life getting to go back in time and hang out with nine to twelve year olds. These kids all have unique abilities… but they all love playing football, who doesnt. I saw children that where trying, with all their might, to be normal children. They are but there not. They all came as themselves– kids just wanting to be kids… and thats what they were. All we did was do our best to love them. To give them the opportunity to be themselves.

As I hung out with these kids I saw JESUS… His Love, Simplicity and His Fun!!! And I was overwhelmed with HAPPINESS!!! I want that Childlike heart… Forever.

Mark 10:15 I tell you the truth anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.

We must remind each other, as brothers and sisters, to have a child like heart as our minds are maturing. Also we must be ready for our hearts to be broken because there are many things in this world that are broken and jacked up… like myself. God is in the moments of true Brokenness… we are the body of Christ: we are the tear-duck of his Heart.

I am broken!!!
